Santa was seen out and about on National Bird Day, celebrating the many feathered friends of the North Pole! He was spotted watching some falcons, eagles, hawks, and owls soar through the sky, and of course, the ever-popular puffins, terns, auks, razorbills, cormorants, eiders, gannets, guillemots, loons, kittiwakes, fulmars, buntings, jaegers, ptarmigan, gulls, phalaropes, and turnstones. When asked why he was partaking in the festivities, Santa said, “It’s important to recognize the many birds that live at the North Pole. They’re such a big part of our culture here, and I want to show them the respect they deserve.” Santa was also seen joining in on a sanderling scavenger hunt, and even had a go at catching a buntling with his signature red hat. “It’s a lot harder than it looks,” said Santa with a laugh. It looks like National Bird Day was a big success at the North Pole!
